Terms of use

Effective October 11, 2026

These terms apply when you use humanitysystems.org. By using the site, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.

1. Who we are

Humanity Systems is a California nonprofit public benefit corporation based in San Diego, California.

2. Using what we publish

We want our work to be read, shared, and argued with. You may read, share, and quote anything we publish on this site, as long as you credit Humanity Systems and link back to the source. Some reports, data, or tools may come with their own license. When they do, that license applies.

Our name and logo belong to us. Please don’t use them in a way that suggests we endorse you, your product, or your cause.

3. Our research and benchmark results

Our research, including AI Behavior Benchmark results, reflects our own testing and judgment as of the date we publish it. AI systems change often, so results can go out of date. Our work is for public education. It is not legal, financial, medical, or professional advice, and it is not a certification or an endorsement of any product or company.

The news stories we describe come from the public sources we link to. We describe them to explain why this work matters, not to make new claims about the companies involved.

4. Things you agree not to do

  • Break the law or anyone else’s rights while using the site.
  • Try to break into, overload, or disrupt the site or the services behind it.
  • Submit false information, spam, or someone else’s details through our forms.
  • Present our work as your own, or change it and present the changed version as ours.

5. Donations

Donations are covered by our donation policy.

6. Links to other sites

We link to other websites for sources and context. We don’t control them and aren’t responsible for what they say or do.

7. No warranty

We work hard to get things right, but the site and everything on it are provided “as is.” We don’t promise that the site will always be available, error free, or complete.

8. Limits on liability

As far as the law allows, Humanity Systems and its directors, officers, staff, and volunteers aren’t liable for any indirect or consequential loss that comes from using the site or relying on what it says. Nothing in these terms limits a liability that the law doesn’t allow us to limit.

9. Governing law

California law governs these terms. Any dispute about them will be handled in the state or federal courts located in San Diego County, California.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. We’ll post the new version here and change the date at the top.
